Job Description
The Site Maintenance Crew Assistant assists with lawn maintenance and flower bed services at various county-owned sites throughout Brunswick County. This position is responsible for performing routine landscaping tasks, ensuring all assigned locations remain clean, well-maintained, and visually appealing. The Site Maintenance Crew Assistant also a ssists with transporting and handling equipment and supplies while adhering to county maintenance standards and safety regulations. Graduation from high school and 1 to 2 years of experience in labor-intensive maintenance work; or any combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Experience can substitute up to two years of education; however, education cannot substitute for experience. Special Requirements Must obtain Public Operator Pesticide Applicator's License within one year of employment.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including tractors, lawn mowers, welders, rakes, and power and hand tools etc. Must be able to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are for Medium Work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
