SCOPE OF WORK
Perform roadway maintenance, equipment operation, and transportation support to maintain safe and serviceable tribal roads and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include operating light equipment and vehicles, maintaining road surfaces and drainage systems, implementing traffic control measures, performing preventative equipment maintenance, and completing roadway maintenance activities in accordance with established safety standards.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate light vehicles and equipment by driving pickup trucks, tractors, and other light maintenance equipment to transport personnel, materials, and equipment and perform roadway maintenance activities. Perform roadway and infrastructure maintenance by repairing pavement, sealing cracks, preparing culvert beds, maintaining road shoulders, mowing rights-of-way, and cleaning bridges, guardrails, and drainage structures. Maintain drainage systems and roadways by inspecting, cleaning, and repairing culverts, ditches, catch basins, bridges, and other roadway structures while removing debris and litter to ensure safe travel and proper drainage. Provide work zone traffic control by setting up warning signs, cones, and barricades, flagging motorists, and ensuring safe traffic flow through maintenance and construction areas. Maintain equipment and operational records by performing preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and shop facilities and accurately documenting daily work activities, equipment usage, and fuel consumption. Follow safety standards and perform general labor by observing established safety procedures while performing manual labor, including shoveling, hauling materials, asphalt patching, and other roadway maintenance duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED preferred. Valid Driver's License preferred.
