Job Summary:
This position includes responsibility for minor preventative maintenance, production equipment cleaning, set up of the production line for the following day production.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cleans fiber, dust, oil, and grease from machines, ceiling, floor, overhead pipes, conveyors, filters, and any other areas deemed necessary using a blow gun, basic hand tools, brushes, air hoses or other tools necessary
  • Remove dust from the top of the ovens, distributors, openers, tamafa, and chute feeds.
  • Clean spray station pans and catch pans. (Areas of floor in which they slide in and out need to be cleaned.)
  • Replace filters (ovens, spray station tents, collection bags, and suction cages.)
  • Clean ceiling and ductwork.
  • Clean compression aprons including framework.
  • Feeders - remove dust inside and out including the hopper. Wipe down all windows and sensors - clean and remove any fiber underneath the infeed aprons to the feeders.
  • Remove fiber under the blend lines and around the chute feed chambers and ensure the two-cylinder filters are clean.
  • Remove fiber build up on the main, under the main, floor aprons, drop, infeed or delivery aprons.
  • Ovens- Remove fiber hanging from within or any part of the ovens including loose fibers hanging from the heat lamps.
  • Slitter Saw Stations- clean and ensure the blades are sharp and there is no fiber wrapped around the aprons.
  • Clean windup and scale stations. Replace the plastic on the windup roller if it falls apart.
  • Clean cross-lapper area inside and out, floor aprons and cross-lapper, needler and pre-needler.
  • Empty cyclone barrels.
  • Clean perforator.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write and speak English competently.
Mechanical ability
Environmental Conditions:
  • Warehouse environment with temperature extremes, dust, and noise.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
