Summer Facilities position (Paint & Grounds)

The Blair Academy Facilities Department is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our facilities team this summer. You will play a vital role in refreshing our campus environment, working primarily with our Paint or Grounds Team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys active, hands-on work and seeing tangible results at the end of the day. The seasonal position will tentatively begin on or around June 8, 2026, and run through mid-August. The weekly schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Interior & Exterior Painting:

Assist in refreshing dorm rooms, classrooms, and common areas. Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, and taping. Apply paint to walls, trim, and outdoor railings. Ensure all equipment (brushes, rollers, sprayers) is cleaned and maintained.

Grounds Maintenance:

Perform general landscaping tasks to keep the campus looking its best. Assist with weeding, mulching, and debris removal. Support various outdoor maintenance projects as assigned by the supervisor. General "all-hands-on-deck" support for facility improvements.

Qualifications:

Current Blair students preferred

Reliability:

Must be able to commit to the full schedule from June through mid-August.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs. Attention to

Detail:

Pride in doing a clean, professional job (especially with paint lines!).

Team Player:

Ability to work well with others and follow safety instructions. Salary & other compensation: Base pay range is $15.92-$16.50 per hour. Salary depends on numerous factors, including but not limited to education and experience.
