Callicoon, NY About Seminary Hill:
This is a full-time position, as part of a small team creating excellent orchard-driven cider at a thriving multifaceted cidery in the beautiful Catskills. Seminary Hill also includes a certified organic orchard, full farm to table menu in the tasting room, a boutique hotel, and an event venue. This is an opportunity to develop a broad range of orchard skills for those looking to work in the cider/wine industry. Work changes seasonally and will include outdoor (orchard) work and potentially indoor cellar work. The ideal candidate will also have the ability and skills to sell cider and represent Seminary Hill at the local farmers market. Duties Orchard duties include, but are not limited to the following: Spraying (certified organic orchard) Harvesting Crop estimates (frost damage, bloom, pollination) Mowing Pruning General orchard maintenance Operating a Tractor General facilities and grounds maintenance including cleaning up storm damage and working at offsite locations Skills Desired Work in a positive collaborative fashion in a wide variety of tasks Flexibility and willingness to pitch in where needed on various aspects of the business Remain productive without constant supervision Previous knowledge of organic orchard production a plus, but not required Work together with others, or solo depending on the task Ability to keep clear and detailed records Good communication skills Ability to lift up to 50lbs Some experience with mechanical maintenance is a plus but not required Some experience with tractors and similar equipment is a plus but not required
Other Requirements:
Applicants must have a valid drivers license. Availability for at least one weekend day.

Availability to occasionally work outside of normal work hours to apply orchard sprays as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
$20-24/hour depending on experience. Two weeks paid vacation in the first full calendar year after starting, and three weeks paid vacation in the second full calendar year after starting. Paid sick time in accordance with NY State law and regulations.
