Maintenance Helper

Overview:

The Maintenance Helper will assist in various tasks related to facilities maintenance, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of school operations. Applicants must have experience with lawn maintenance, snow removal, and equipment; mowing, edging, pruning, etc. Must also have experience operating ride-on-lawn mower, edger, leaf blower, snow blower, plow, etc.

Duties:

Assists in performing a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled repairs to the school buildings, such as heating, electrical, masonry, pluming, carpentry, painting, and roofing repairs. Brings tools and supplies to work area and maintains working tools and equipment. Keeps work area clean and safe. Assembles office equipment and furniture when necessary. Moves office/classroom furniture as needed and makes minor repairs to same. Sweeps and mops floors, washes walls, empties waste baskets, and removes rubbish. Cleans furniture in classrooms and offices, including blackboards and windows. Assists in operating a variety of automotive and maintenance equipment. Assists in snow removal, planting and maintaining shrubs, trees, and grass. Mows lawns, rakes leaves, picks up debris, and performs other ground maintenance work. Assists in making, repairing, and maintaining building signs. • This is a Nassau County Civil Service position

Pay:

$44,788.00 - $61,162.00 per year
