Job Description

HIRING RATE
Seasonal position, PRA 1, $16.00 Per hour, 40 hrs. per week.
WORK LOCATION
Allegany State Park, Red House, Cleaning Crew
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
Seasonal position, April 4th, 2024-September 4th 2024 WORK
SCHEDULE
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (including weekends and holidays) Duties and Responsibilities - Under the supervision of the Park Manager or their designee, the incumbents will perform or assist with routine cleaning and housekeeping work which will include, but is not limited to:
  • Clean facility buildings, cabins, cottages, and other facilities and structures as assigned;
  • Sweeping/vacuuming/mopping floors, window washing, trash and recycling removal, and dusting;
  • Interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner;
  • May be required to assist other operational departments as assigned, which may include, but not be limited to: entrance fees at toll booths, assisting with basic maintenance work such as painting projects, or assisting with grounds work;
  • May handle complaints or inquiries from park patrons. Operational Needs - Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
  • Must be available to work a variable schedule that will include seasonal pass day changes, holidays and/or weekends.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in a team setting.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff and park patrons in a responsible and courteous manner under stressful conditions.
