Job Description

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the day to day repairs and security of the Facility. They will carry out their duties in accordance with all current federal and state regulations and facility policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
The Maintenance Worker will have general experience or knowledge of the trades. They will have demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and mechanical skills. He/she must have good communication and organizational skills. He/she must effectively delegate to and motivate staff.
Primary Job Duties:
The following is a partial list of job duties: Completing work orders. At all times be professional, courteous and respectful of residents and staff. Maintain a positive attitude. Complete work orders on time, safely and of high quality. Utilize an efficient approach to completing work orders or assignments. Regularly update the Maintenance Supervisor of work status and any problems that arise. Provide input into problem solving and trouble shooting. Maintain a neat and organized maintenance shop. Keep tools and equipment in good repair. Attend all required training or in-servicing. Document work completed according to Department procedures. Provide written and verbal reports as requested by supervisor. Be on-call and available for emergencies. May be required to carry beeper, walkie-talkie, and/or cell phone Be knowledgeable of: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, HVAC, and mechanical repairs. Understand how to respond to various emergencies in the disaster manual, and to alarms in the Facility. Maintain grounds, buildings, automobiles and equipment. Work with outside contractors and vendors. Follow all facility policies and procedures. Assist and/or conduct investigations of missing items or other security issues Be familiar with significant fire and safety, building, electrical, and plumbing codes. Maintain the security of the Facility.
Additional Job Duties:
The Maintenance Worker may be required to give reports to Supervisor. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
