Building Attendant I (PT) Recruitment # 26-6077-001 Date Opened 6/29/2026 09:00:00 AM Close Date Continuous Salary $19.59 per hour Department Public Works Job Type Part-Time Responsibilities Performs routine custodial care and minor maintenance duties in public buildings and facilities. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of buildings and surrounding grounds through a variety of manual labor tasks. Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors and may require exposure to varying weather conditions. Minimum Qualifications Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. License Requirements Must have a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain as a term and condition of continued employment. General Requirements Ability to perform physically demanding custodial duties, including prolonged standing, bending, lifting, carrying, and moving furniture, equipment, and supplies. Must possess knowledge of standard custodial and janitorial cleaning methods, materials, chemicals, equipment, and safe work practices necessary to maintain buildings and facilities in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. Notes Applications must specifically address each of the minimum qualifications, directly showing how each is met. Background Check A background investigation is required prior to employment. All candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including current city employees seeking transfer, promotion, demotion, etc. into a classified position. Drug and Nicotine Testing Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a drug screen. Applicants offered employment with the City will be required to pass a nicotine screening. Newly hired employees must remain tobacco and nicotine free as a condition of continued employment. The Tobacco and Nicotine Free Hiring Policy does not apply to current City employees. :
