Job Overview Join our vibrant community as a Village Maintenance Worker, where your hands-on skills and passion for outdoor care will help keep our village beautiful, functional, and welcoming. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the landscape, ensuring irrigation systems operate smoothly, and performing general upkeep of communal areas. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to a safe, attractive environment that residents and visitors alike can enjoy every day. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop your horticultural skills, and be an essential part of our community's upkeep. The position will turn into a lead role once the training period is completed (Per Current Maintenance approval) Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance at the park. Maintain water and sewer systems. Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various maintenance projects around the village grounds. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents or management to address issues like fallen branches or damaged pathways. Attend monthly council meetings. Requirements Prior experience in hands on work, and outdoor maintenance is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is valued. Knowledge of water and sewer is preferred. Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and gardening implements safely; familiarity with power tools is a plus. Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks including bending, lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for scheduling routine maintenance activities. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and respond to resident requests professionally. This role is vital in creating a welcoming environment that reflects pride in our community's appearance. We're excited to welcome motivated individuals who are eager to contribute their skills in landscape care and maintenance! This position will be hired as a trainee, and after current maintenance retires; said person will then take over as village maintenance/ administrator. -those tasks will also be trained for on how to communicate with EPA and how to keep the village up to code.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
