Job Duties Building & Fabrication:
Construct, modify, and repair custom crates and packing solutions using woodworking tools and materials.
Artwork Installation & Handling:
Install, uninstall, inspect, move, and handle artwork across residential, commercial, corporate, and institutional settings with care. Ensure safe transport and effective team communication.
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform cleaning and preventative maintenance per guidelines, documenting conditions and promptly reporting issues or recommendations.
Recordkeeping & Cataloging:
Complete and maintain accurate documentation, inventories, and condition reports; support collection management from storage through installation.
Artwork Transportation:
Wrap, pack, and prepare artwork for transport or storage.
Workplace Standards:
Maintain tour-ready housekeeping, work independently with minimal supervision, and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 2-4 years of related experience in construction or carpentry High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with standard museum practices Excellent problem-solving, time management, organizational, and multitasking skills Team player with the ability to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environment Working knowledge of outdoor sculpture materials Experience with rigging techniques, including safely lifting, securing, and positioning heavy or oversized items using appropriate equipment Understanding of mounts, supports, and structures; mounting or frame-making experience is a plus
