In this energetic position, you will perform a variety of maintenance tasks, landscape care, and general upkeep to maintain the aesthetic appeal and functionality of public parks. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for visitors of all ages to enjoy nature and recreation. Duties Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and watering to keep grass healthy and vibrant. Conduct landscape maintenance such as planting, pruning, tree trimming, and shrubbery care to enhance park aesthetics. Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment like trimmers, blowers, and small machinery to complete maintenance tasks efficiently. Maintain park infrastructure by repairing hardscape features such as benches, pathways, and fencing using appropriate tools. Assist with snow plowing during winter months to ensure safe access to park facilities. Support tree care initiatives by inspecting trees for health issues and performing necessary trimming or removal with proper equipment like excavators or chainsaws. Help with irrigation system installation, inspection, and repair to promote healthy plant growth across park landscapes. Qualifications Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with landscaping equipment and hand tools. Experience in lawn care, gardening, or landscape maintenance is highly desirable. Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant care techniques. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; experience with excavators or other construction machinery is a plus. Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions. Prior experience in snow plowing or tree care is advantageous but not required; training will be provided if necessary.
