About the
Role:
The Laborer-Maintenance position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment within various work environments. This role involves performing a wide range of physical tasks that support maintenance teams, including cleaning, repairing, and assisting with installations. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized workplace by addressing maintenance needs promptly and effectively. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and collaborating with supervisors to implement solutions. Ultimately, the Laborer-Maintenance role is vital in minimizing downtime and supporting the overall productivity of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures. Legal authorization to work in the United States.. Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery and production equipment. Experience with electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase power, motors and motor controls, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a maintenance or laborer role. Familiarity with facility maintenance practices and equipment. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems. Certification in OSHA safety standards or related training. Ability to read and interpret simple technical documents or work orders. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and perform preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance on production equipment. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and perform timely repairs. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Monitor production equipment through routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation. Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement initiatives. Create, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and inspection programs. Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, work orders, and repair documentation. Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate replenishment of maintenance supplies. Inspect tools and equipment regularly and request replacements when necessary. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while performing maintenance activities. Work collaboratively with production supervisors and other departments to minimize downtime and support manufacturing goals. Perform other duties as assigned.
