A Maintenance Helper or Assistant assists maintenance mechanics. Repairs and maintains equipment and machines, such as cars or heating systems. May assemble or adjust machines as directed by a head mechanic.
We are looking for a team member to join our Public Works department. This position is part of a progression plan ($16.11 to $22.46 per hour) with defined pay increases as you gain skills and knowledge through on-the-job training as well as specific certifications and licenses. In this position you will utilize a variety of power tools and hand tools to perform construction, maintenance and repairs of water/wastewater systems, City streets, parks, and facilities .
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license (must obtain Oklahoma Driver's license within thirty days of hire), within twelve months of hire you must obtain a Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements, Class D Water Operator's license and a Class D Wastewater Operator's license. The City will pay for you to get your required licenses and assist you with training.
Starting Rate:
$16.11 per hour plus comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401k, Annual leave, Sick leave, Holidays, and Personal Days.
