Street Supervisor and Borough Council Description:
The prime responsibility of the Street/Maintenance Employees are to insure the safety and maintain the streets and properties owned and operated by Everett Borough. This includes all streets within the Everett Borough, the Borough Office, Garage, Tenley Park, Levee Pump House and the Levee.
Position Available:
Full-time. Normal working hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. but are subject to change. Must be available for on-call situations such as snow, flooding, etc.
Qualifications:
The qualifications to perform this job include some knowledge of mechanics, and repairs. Equipment operating a plus
Requirements:
Submit to Pre-employment and random drug testing. Must have a valid driving license and clean driving record. Must be available for occasional on call day or night.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include shoveling, mowing, weed trimming, painting, paving, excavation, pipe cleaning, flood prevention, snow plowing, snow removal, tree trimming, vehicle and equipment maintenance, and other duties as may be required.
Daily street inspections for needed repairs and trash
Check and collect monies from parking meters and make any necessary repairs
Regular street maintenance including signs, sweeping and removing of debris. Clean up after parades or any Main Street functions
Winter maintenance including snow removal by shoveling office sidewalk, plowing borough streets, spreading of antiskid and salt
Check and clean storm water inlets
Maintain the Levee system by checking and cleaning the pumps and keeping the levee mowed, weed trimming and clear of debris
Make repairs to streets and Main Street sidewalk, as needed, including paving projects, excavation, pipe cleaning and sidewalk repairs
Paint curbs, parking spaces and crosswalks as needed
Maintain street equipment
Trim trees and clear storm boxes & drains
Grounds maintenance at Tenley Park and other Borough buildings including painting, mowing, weed trimming, spraying, and garbage clean-up
Leaf and tree collection
Education, Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A knowledge of small equipment mechanics, painting, small repairs and PennDot rules and regulations is helpful. Knowledge of operating a Ventrac, snow plow, street sweeper and other large equipment is a plus.
Certificates, Licensing, Registrations:
Valid driver's license. If necessary, the ability to obtain a Pesticide License, Sewer Lift Station License and CDL License.
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, sitting, use of hands or arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs or more is recommended. Some heavy lifting is required.
