Job Description

The Maintenance Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring that the facilities are safe, clean, and inviting for older adults. This full-time position involves performing various maintenance tasks, reflecting the organization's commitment to serving older adults with compassion and care. Responsibilities Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and maintenance tasks to keep everything running smoothly. Prep and paint the walls of facilities. Freshen up rooms with painting, carpet cleaning, and assist in transporting furniture to and from storage. Effectively clean carpets and floors using appropriate equipment. Maintain the grounds through mowing, weeding, spreading mulch, and seasonal clean-ups. Ensure walkways are safe during winter months through snow removal and de-icing. Maintain lawnmowers and perform minor tune-ups as needed. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies. Familiarity with painting, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cleaning floors, and general repairs. A genuine desire to help others, especially older adults, in a compassionate, faith-driven environment. Ability to work collaboratively with the Facilities Coordinator and other team members. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Must have a valid driver's license to drive facility bus for resident travel
