Job Description
DEUEL COUNTY PART-TIME MAINTENANCE PERSON
Deuel County is accepting applications for a Part-Time Maintenance Person. This position is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of Deuel County facilities and grounds, including the Deuel County Courthouse, Fairgrounds, 4-H Service Center, 4-H Complex, parking areas, and other assigned county property. Position Details Approximately 20 hours per week Works under the direction of the Deuel County Auditor and Deuel County Board of Commissioners Must be dependable and able to work independently Some on-call availability may be required Primary Duties Duties include, but are not limited to: Opening and closing the courthouse as assigned Maintaining and properly caring for flags at county facilities Mowing, trimming, raking leaves, snow removal, and general grounds maintenance Maintaining shrubs and trees Minor carpentry work Keeping sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas reasonably clear of snow and ice Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs to county facilities and equipment Checking and replacing interior and exterior lighting as needed Assisting with minor plumbing and heating/cooling system issues Maintaining mowers, snowblowers, and other maintenance equipment Keeping the county garage, maintenance areas, and storage areas clean and orderly Identifying and reporting significant maintenance or repair needs Attending training sessions and meetings as required Maintaining professional and courteous relationships with county employees and the public Performing other duties as assigned Qualifications Applicants should have a working knowledge of general building and grounds maintenance, including the materials, methods, tools, and equipment commonly used in maintenance work. A high school diploma or GED and one year of maintenance or related experience are preferred ; however, an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
