Job Description

The position serves as the Laundry Leader for the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS). The employee leads workers engaged in laundry and linen operations, including processing, distribution, equipment operation, and associated support programs. The position performs nonsupervisory laundry and textile care work and provides day-to-day technical direction to a multi grade team.

Note :
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements:
You will be asked to participate in a pre-employment evaluation as part of the pre-employment process for this position. Questions about physical demands or environmental factors may be addressed at the time of evaluation or examination. Work requires daily walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing carts, pulling loads, and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Some administrative work is sedentary.
Work Conditions:
Work is performed in hot, humid environments with strong odors, noise, moving machinery, and potential exposure to infectious materials and chemicals. PPE is mandatory. Work involves confined spaces and mechanical hazards requiring strict adherence to safety procedures.
