starting at $16/hr Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for Maintenance Specialists in Kingsport, TN. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with general maintenance and groundskeeping experience who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and attractive communities. The Maintenance Specialist performs a variety of general maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping duties throughout residential housing properties. This role requires basic knowledge of maintenance trades, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions. Position Summary The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of residential communities through general repairs, grounds maintenance, custodial services, and support of special projects and events. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing quality service to residents and team members. Essential Responsibilities Assist with maintenance work orders and coordinate with maintenance contractors as needed. Remove litter and debris from parking lots, sidewalks, and common areas. Maintain dumpster areas by removing trash and sweeping surrounding areas. Perform basic landscaping duties, including planting flowers and shrubs and removing weeds. Assist with setup and teardown of tents, tables, and chairs for community-related events. Clean and perform basic repairs on household appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, and garbage disposals. Perform routine custodial duties in common areas, restrooms, apartment complexes, and housing units as needed. Repair and replace broken concrete on sidewalks and driveways; patch small asphalt areas. Repair windows, screens, gutters, downspouts, vinyl siding, and soffits. Repair or replace doors, locks, and doorknobs. Patch and repair drywall, including rehanging sheetrock when necessary. Perform light maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, moving office furniture, hanging bulletin boards, and transporting materials to worksites. Remove snow and apply de-icing materials to sidewalks and parking areas as needed. Dig holes and trenches in preparation for maintenance projects. Safely operate pickup trucks and other company vehicles. Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies at all times. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Vocational training in a maintenance trade preferred. Previous experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial work, or a related field preferred. Ability to interact professionally and courteously with residents, coworkers, contractors, and the public. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow established policies and procedures. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Basic knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and repair techniques. Requirements Valid Tennessee Driver's License required. Must be insurable under standard vehicle liability guidelines.
