JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Maintenance Helper moves University office furniture, non-sensitive lab equipment, non- sensitive health care equipment and other equipment or supplies as needed by university staff, faculty, or students. This position is classified as an Essential Services Employee. Essential Services Employees maintain business operations for UT Health Science Center, support the physical operations and safety of the campus. This role involves performing various operations and services essential to maintaining critical infrastructure and ensuring continuous operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED. (TRANSCRIPT
REQUIRED
)
EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months of satisfactory work performance in a moving company or experience in a related area. Must have a valid Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to operate a standard shift truck. Good oral communication skills. Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Ability to perform physical labor outside and inside for extended periods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Moves and transports office furniture, laboratory equipment, health care equipment and other equipment or supplies. Drives UT vehicles to various locations in the process of transferring or storing University property equipment, or supplies. Assists in the relocation of surplus property. Sets up, arranges, or takes down equipment for special events. Assists in the cleanup of construction sites. Removes snow, ice, and debris during inclement weather from parking garages, sidewalks, and other areas. Performs other duties as required.
