ROLE AND PURPOSE
Maintain, repair, parts ordering utilizing AISD procedures for purchasing and schedule PM on Tractors, mowers, line trimmers, chain and pole saws, edgers and other small engine repairs as designated by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution, required. Ability to read and understand verbal instructions in English Valid TX driver's license Class C required (Class B preferred) Specialized courses in diesel engines (college or vocational) preferred
Experience:
Working knowledge of and ability to operate all power equipment, vehicles, tractors and attachments associated with department Four years of experience in grounds and exterior facilities maintenance
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. Ability to work well with children.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
I.
JOB DUTIES
Follow all AISD safety procedures as covered in the AISD safety handbook Abide by all AISD policies and procedures as outlined in the AISD auxiliary employee handbook Assume responsibility for safe operation and care of assigned service vehicle, tools and equipment Assume responsibility for personal time record Maintain department schedules and daily log Initiate and complete work orders given Keep school grounds and exterior facilities, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots and play areas neat and clean Reporting any safety hazards Comply with all local, state, and federal laws Perform all other duties assigned as determined by the needs of the district Maintain effective and positive public relations within assigned department and with all other areas of contact Position may require overtime, as necessary to maintain function of District facilities Position will respond to service calls in a timely manner while serving on-call duty, as necessary to maintain function of District facilities Any other duties may be directed by your immediate supervisor and/or any other supervisor within your line of authority

Maintain AISD maintenance and grounds mechanic as needed

IV. MISCELLANEOUS
Perform other duties as assigned
V. EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE SKILLS
Tractor and associated attachments Uses, mower, edger, cord trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer, tiller, sod cutter, electric drill, electric saw and hand tools, dump trucks, tractors and associated attachments.

Tools/Equipment Used:
Use of tools equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, regularly operate a light truck or van
Posture:
Frequent walking, standing, crouching, stooping, lifting, pushing, bending, reaching overhead and horizontally
Motion:
Walk over rough or uneven surfaces
Lifting:
Occasionally moving objects up to 75 pounds, ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding ramps, piles
Environment:
Will work under, around, and outside of all AISD facilities, will be exposed to all outside conditions in this region of Texas, exposure to dust, chemicals, and other materials and slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
