Job Description:

This role is pivotal to ensuring our nursery maintains its reputation for quality and continues to operate efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience in general maintenance tasks, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to preserving the beauty and functionality of our nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

Water trees on the required schedule, understanding the unique needs of different species to ensure appropriate hydration. Monitor irrigation systems and make necessary adjustments or repairs for optimal functionality. Maintain a clean, orderly yard by clearing debris and managing waste. Perform general landscaping — mulching, weeding, and light pruning — to keep the nursery visually appealing. Carefully repot medium to large trees, ensuring their health and stability across our expansive grounds. Conduct routine facility inspections to identify and resolve issues. Coordinate with the nursery team on maintenance needs related to tree care and plantation. Help prepare for seasonal changes so the nursery is equipped for varying weather. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring a safe environment for all staff and visitors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Prior experience in maintenance, farming, or a related field preferred (not mandatory). Knowledge of basic landscaping and farm maintenance. Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs repeatedly, bend, stand for long periods, and work outdoors in all weather. Keen attention to detail with a proactive approach to tasks and challenges. Excellent communication skills and ability to work cohesively with a team. Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred. Knowledge of safety protocols related to farm operations. Reliable transportation required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
