SUMMARY Under general supervision of the Street Maintenance Crew Lead, performs manual labor tasks including minor street repairs, installation and maintenance of street signs and traffic control devices, filling sandbags, picking up debris on streets and rights-of-way, and cleaning drain inlets and flumes. Assists in winter weather operations by applying sand, salt, and other anti-icing materials before and during weather events.

None
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs street maintenance, including pothole repairs and crack sealing. Collects and removes debris from streets and right-of-way areas. Assists with street striping, sign installation, and repair. Cleans storm drain inlets and flumes as needed. Performs concrete pours and builds forms for concrete projects, including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and drive approaches. Shovels, rakes, tamps, and levels asphalt. Assists with work-zone traffic control. Assists in winter weather operations. Performs right-of-way maintenance as needed, including mowing, weed eating, and tree trimming. Performs general maintenance of Public Works equipment, including barricade maintenance, filling sandbags, and maintaining materials inventory. Maintains recordkeeping and maintenance logs, both written and electronic. Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
Ability to safely and effectively operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic devices, and equipment. Effective oral and written communication.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES /CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Valid Texas Class C Drivers License required. Must possess or obtain within one (1) year of employment, a valid Texas Class A CDL Driver's License. OR Any combination of related education and experience that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job. •Obtaining a valid Class A CDL Driver's License is required within one (1) year of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Must be able to wear City-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ability to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Most work is performed in an outdoor environment that may include inclement weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; confined spaces; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. In all cases, appropriate procedures and PPE will be utilized. Must pass a pre-employment drug test. Must pass a drivers license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification. Must be able to work overtime and emergency call back as needed or determined by the business needs of the department.
