Immediately Job Description ____________________________________________________________________________ Position Overview This is maintenance skilled work in The Highlands School buildings, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Duties also include completing maintenance work, caring of buildings, cleaning, repairs, and grounds. Facilities staff individual job description entails assisting and ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees and assisting in completing work orders and requests providing suggestions for increased service and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Assist in setting up various areas of the school for meetings, programs, presentations, etc. This may require setting up and taking down tables & chairs and providing necessary equipment. General maintenance of grounds/facilities as instructed by the Facilities Director or Facilities Assistant Manager. Check all lights in all areas and buildings. Repairs and maintenance as directed by the Facilities Director or Facilities Assistant Manager Performing preventative maintenance Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment Clean tables or areas as instructed Handling basic repairs and maintenance Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
Qualifications:
Related degree from a technical college or high school diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience at least 2 years Carpentry (painting, drywall, masonry, etc.) Plumbing, HVAC, other Proven maintenance experience Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, guests, and vendors Professional presentation and attitude Ability to maintain focus while working Strong time management skills Physical Requirements Specific to the job: Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls Reach with hands and arms Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel crouch or crawl and smell Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
Reporting Structure:
The Facilities staff individual will report directly to the Director of Facilities.
Position Type:
Full-Time Job Requirements At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. High School/Trade School degree preferred. Citizenship, residency or work visa required
