Maintenance Worker II - Streets

SummaryMaintains highways, municipal and rural roads, rights-of-way and storm water drainage areas in safe condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesErects and repairs guardrails, highway markers, and snow fences.

Dumps, spreads, and tamps asphalt with pneumatic tamper to patch broken or eroded pavement.

Drives truck to transport crew and equipment to work site.

Drives snow removal equipment, consisting of truck or tractor equipped with sand spreading equipment.

Clears creek, ditches and storm drains of obstructions and brush.

Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsA valid Class B CDL driver's license is preferred. Must be obtained within 6 months of employment. A clean driving record is required for this position. Driving is a requirement of this position.
