Summary Supervises and assists in the work of a small crew in the construction and maintenance of a wide variety of public works projects or jobs. Essential Functions Supervise a small work crew; assist construction and maintenance foreman in planning work to be done; maintain time cards; Estimate materials, manpower, and equipment needs for various projects; Assist work crews in street maintenance work including sealing cracks, patching holes, repairing paving cuts, and operating salt spreaders during icy weather; Maintain equipment, and insure that proper tools are brought to each job; Operate trucks, street sweepers, front end loaders, crackseal machines, or distributor; assist in the setting up of traffic control devices or baricades; Assist in employee selection, evaluation, and disciplinary activities; Perform related duties as directed. Occasionally bend and kneel during the shift. Frequently push and pull objects. Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees.
