Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent, AND two (2) years work experience operating vehicles and motorized maintenance equipment.Required Licenses or Certifications:
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License. Must possess and maintain one (1) approved certification to be used by the Parks Department.Required Knowledge of:
City policies and procedures Basic tools and equipment used in parks, facilities, grounds maintenance and construction. Traffic laws and rules for vehicle and equipment operation. Operation, maintenance and repair standards for motorized equipment and vehicles. City safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards and safety precautions.Required Skill in:
Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of tools and equipment according to standard operating and safety procedures. Making routine operating adjustments and repairs to assigned equipment. Identifying mechanical problems. Physical Demands /Work Environment:
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to hazardous equipment, requires constant physical efforts for extended periods, and ability to safely lift, carry and move items weighing up to eighty (80) pounds. Must be able to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays on any assigned shift. May be required to work immediately before, during or after an emergency or disaster.
