Apply Overview Position Type Full-Time/Part-Time Apply Description SUMMARY :
The Racquet Sports Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, grooming, and daily maintenance of all racquet sports facilities, including tennis and pickleball courts and surrounding grounds. This role ensures courts are safe, clean, and in excellent playing condition while supporting daily operations and experience for all members and their guests at Wintergreen Resort.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain all racquet sports courts (Har-Tru clay, hard, and pickleball) to optimal playing conditions Perform daily grooming of clay courts (brushing, lining, watering, rolling as needed) Inspect and repair nets, posts, windscreens, and court equipment Maintain clean and organized court areas, including trash removal and debris clearing Monitor court conditions and weather impact; adjust maintenance plans accordingly Assist with seasonal court opening and closing procedures Perform light landscaping around courts (weeding, edging, surface cleanup) Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Director of Racquet Sports Assist with event setup and breakdown (tournaments, clinics, special events) Operate and maintain maintenance equipment (lutes, rollers, blowers, etc.) Support general facility upkeep as needed Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in facility maintenance, groundskeeping, or court maintenance is a plus Knowledge of tennis court maintenance (especially Har-Tru clay) preferred, but not required Ability to work independently and take initiative Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high-quality playing surfaces Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours (including weekends/holidays)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs regularly Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and working outdoors Exposure to heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions Ability to stand and move for extended periods
