Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Custodian/Maintenance Worker to join our team and ensure the cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of our Association buildings and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities Cleans all facilities daily or as required. Arranges furniture and sets up rooms in the Clubhouse for special and recurring functions as necessary. Maintains Ashlawn Clubhouse, Fairway Clubhouse, Operations Building, Golf Pro Shop area, including the decks, patios and adjacent areas to assure cleanliness and appearance. Sweeps decks and patios and maintains outdoor furniture. Picks up trash/debris on grounds and parking lots. Empties trash containers daily or as needed. Keeps walkways and entranceways clean from debris and snow during shift. Performs operational maintenance on building systems such as plunging toilets, changing light bulbs and checking general operations such as operational adequacy of heating and cooling. Performs snow removal and applies ice melt near building entrances Operate, blowers and other small equipment to assist with general building roads and grounds maintenance tasks Calls in work orders to the Maintenance Department when facilities/plant equipment are in need of repair beyond the scope of this position. Completes other tasks and assignments as required. No prior experience required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and work with committee members, residents, contractors, and other Maintenance team members Specific Skills Ability to operate general maintenance and custodian equipment. Valid Driver's License. Abilities Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. Above average customer service skills as there is frequent interaction with external customers. A personable and professional manner is required for both face-to-face and telephone contact. Must be capable of working independently as well as with a team. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Work Environment Work environment indoor and outdoors and exposes employee to potential minor injuries and frequently adverse weather. Infrequent exposure to potentially hazardous cleaning substances. Physical Demands Cleaning and maintenance work done typically walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and standing; some lifting and carrying objects weighing 25-50 pounds, some equipment and furniture moving; frequent operation of floor cleaning and pool-related equipment. Seasonal operation of weed eater, garden tools, electric hedge trimmers. Other Requirements Occasional requirement to work overtime. This position is classified as "essential personnel" and is required to work during inclement weather situations. May be called in to work if needed and available. Schedule 8 hour shift Day shift Wednesday-Sunday- Flexibility with Scheduling but will need to work Saturday & Sunday.
Pay:
$18.50 - $20.00 per hour
