Position Details Position Details Advertising/Posting Title Facilities Repairperson Posting Summary Join the University of Vermont's Housing & Dining Services team and make a direct impact on the lives of residential students! As a Facilities Repairperson, you'll help maintain safe, functional, and welcoming living environments across our residence halls. This is a hands-on role where no two days are exactly alike — from carpentry and interior repairs to room inspections and mentoring summer staff. You'll work as part of a collaborative team that values student well-being and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 4 years of experience in general maintenance and/or carpentry, familiarity with finish carpentry tools, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. A valid Vermont driver's license (or ability to obtain one) is required, along with the ability to complete 16-hour asbestos awareness and Vermont Essential Maintenance Practices training. Experience reading blueprints and maintenance manuals is a plus. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position. Hours are 7:00 AM-3:30 PM during the academic year and 6:00 AM-2:30 PM in the summer. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) High School diploma and four years related experience required to include general maintenance and/or carpentry. Familiarity with finish carpentry tools and machines. Ability to lift 50lbs. required. Valid Vermont driver's license or ability to obtain. Ability to complete 16-hour asbestos awareness training and State of Vermont Essential Maintenance Practices training. Preference will be given to candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and fostering a collaborative multicultural environment. Desirable Qualifications Experience reading blueprints and maintenance and operations manuals is highly desirable. Anticipated Pay Range $22•24/hour
