General Function:
Responsible for the performing the general maintenance of property, building and other facilities matters. This position will work in coordination and report to the Maintenance Manager as they perform routine and preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, and janitorial duties. Collaborates with various vendors to maintain facilities and to ensure agency expenditures are kept in line.
Principal Activities:
Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds at various facilities/sites which may include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks. Exercises discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person. Other duties as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULTS
Buildings, grounds at various facilities/sites owned, leased, or operated by Volunteers of America will be properly maintained and repaired in a timely fashion. #voaww1
Education and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years' experience as janitor/maintenance including but not limited to plumbing, light electrical, drywall, painting. Landscaping and carpentry. Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment and chemical makeup including OSHA standards. Must be knowledgeable and have experience with hand, power, and landscaping tools. Must be friendly, professional, and able to work with all levels of employees/volunteers. Competency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and the internet for research and accessing services and other relevant tools for email, timekeeping, and data entry. Current clean Washington State driver's license required. May be required to drive their personal vehicle for work on occasion. Will be based in Everett and perform maintenance at sites as far north as Bellingham, south to Seattle, east to Skykomish/Sultan and other locations as needed. Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed.
