MAINTENANCE JOB SUMMARY

: Our Maintenance Worker performs a variety of routine and semi-skilled tasks involving general maintenance of Thunderbirds facilities, equipment, and grounds. Depending on assignment, duties may include: routine cleaning of facilities inside and outside, making routine plumbing repairs (example: repairing leaks, unplugging toilets and drains, etc.); replacing light bulbs and fluorescent lights, and making electrical related repairs; performing routine carpentry work (example: minor paint jobs, installing doors, door stops, cabinet doors, tile, adjustable shelving, etc.); performing preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems; making roof repairs; installing glass; making minor grounds and landscape maintenance or repairs. Some work-related driving on business errands will be required. More difficult or skilled work may be performed under the direct supervision of a skilled maintenance worker. Specific duties performed may vary by assignment. This position performs related work as required. Employees may work independently on routine, recurring assignments or assist a skilled worker in performing more complex tasks. Work is most often uncomplicated and well-defined, requiring minimal decision-making. Employees are required to follow safety procedures and use appropriate equipment when completing assignments. Additional supervision specific to the assigned task may be provided by the facility's supervisory staff, who will review the employee's work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a current, valid WA State driver's license, and must be an experienced driver with a safe driving record. Must have a steady work history in related occupations or duties. Work is performed at a steady, fast pace, with consistent standing, walking, bending, and squatting, lifting or carrying objects, reaching above the shoulders and head. Lifting requirements will range from 5 to 100 pounds. Regular (daily) ladder use is required. Use of 6, 10, and 12-foot step ladders. Extension ladders occasionally 20-30 feet.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE JOB

You will work both inside and outside during the annual seasonal changes. Required work will be within a secondhand smoking area throughout every shift.

Pay range for this position:

Minimum starting wage is $18.00/hour. Range up to $19.00/hour upon demonstrated performance reviews.
