As a Parks Maintenance/Grounds Worker Temporary (Extra-Hire), you will get to work in many park settings and facilities. You'll work alongside other parks maintenance professionals to accomplish challenging and rewarding tasks and projects. In this role you will be a part of the team maintaining the Central Region parks and facilities. The Central Region is responsible for parks in Tacoma, Parkland, and Spanaway; with the majority of the work for these positions being done at Spanaway Park. Nature of the Work You will be responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds, buildings, structures, and equipment within the Parks Department. Core Daily Responsibilities Perform general parks maintenance work such as, but not limited to weeding, trimming, and mowing Perform maintenance work such as but not limited to facilities cleaning and upkeep Assist with setup, maintenance, and tear-down of equipment for special events Assist with closing park operations Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Minimum 18 years of age Valid driver's license Ability to safely lift, push and pull 50lbs Ability to work all terrains in all weather conditions As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check.
