Position Overview:
The Maintenance Assistant performs basic activities related to maintenance and upkeep of building and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repair required to keep the building and equipment in good working order. Daily follow up of the TELS system for building management and tracking of Life Safety and maintenance services/repairs. Monitor building and equipment renovations, remodeling, or replacement projects done by contractors. Under supervision, maintain and repair HVAC, refrigerators, boilers, washers and dryers, and other equipment. Assists in painting, redecorating, and carpentry, concrete, and masonry projects. Conduct and document routine inspection of fire control equipment and sprinkler systems. Maintain weekly facility log of domestic hot water temperature, generator checklist, and monthly fire alarm system testing and sprinkler pressure, for survey and safety compliance. Coordinate and document monthly fire drills. Must demonstrate empathy, courteous, kind and professional workplace behavior and customer services to all residents, Care Team Members, vendors, visitors and family members at all times. Attends all mandatory in-services; and completes timely all necessary Relias trainings scheduled to perform. Keeps abreast and/or discusses with supervisor or manager all necessary policies, procedures and business practices within the scope of the position held to effectively perform all duties assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred but not required. One year of experience in building maintenance. Be able to use computers and the Microsoft Office suite of applications
