Boeing Global Services Product Support Operations Manager (Retrofit, Repair, Modification & Maintenance)
Company:
Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services is seeking a Product Support Operations Manager (Retrofit, Repair, Modification & Maintenance ) to oversee an aircraft modification team at Joint-Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. This team supports ongoing modification and sustainment efforts on assigned aircraft. The selected individual must have strong team-building skills and be capable of working with external, corporate, and DoD customer partners to execute contracted aircraft modifications in a joint environment. Individual selected will lead the Boeing team while providing oversight on training, team development, employee time and pay as well as perform basic human resources functions. Additionally, the team member will provide oversight and input on modification processes, scheduling, kitting and tooling procurement and overall mod execution. This position is located at a remote site geographically separated from Boeing offices, team member must be able to operate independently and be proactive in seeking support from other internal and external agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and mentor a team, executing aircraft modification processes in a field environment. Maintain a positive, results oriented work environment, building partnerships with direct reports, other contractors, site leaders, and DoD customers Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Work with local team geographically separated partners to continuously review lessons learned, identify process improvements, and implement best practices. Collaborate with site and BGS leaders to plan, manage, and optimize resources to achieve program goals and objectives. Demonstrates a commitment to personal learning and development. Seeking feedback and proactively improving skills and knowledge. Foster innovation by exploring new opportunities and solutions, thinking beyond current practices, and approaching work problems with creativity and novel approaches. Possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data to develop conclusions and recommendations. Have a comprehensive understanding of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies, and procedures, as well as products, to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role. Integrate Boeing processes with those from other companies and DoD site leaders to pursue a single, team-based approach to modification execution and completion To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership." 1+ years of experience with aircraft modifications, upgrades, or retrofit projects Experience in aircraft sustainment requirements, reliability and maintainability, USAF technical orders, or USAF maintenance operation 1+ years of experience working within or with Military or DoD customers Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, other technical computing or business discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 3+ years' experience in leadership roles Excellent verbal and written communications skills 2+ years supporting USAF 5th Generation aircraft
