Job Description

Job Summary We're looking for someone with 15 + years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, general contracting, or the general trades. In this role, you'll oversee all aspects of our facility operations, ensuring optimal performance, and safety. You'll be responsible for the constant operation of the lodge's facilities. This position requires a proven leader who can solve problems efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This person needs to be capable and creative, able to come up with creative solutions with limited resources. We're looking for someone to work on a seasonal basis. This role is perfect for someone who is semi-retired or retired and is looking a few months of the year solving hands on problems. Responsibilities Supervise all facilities & maintenance staff (Including
W2 & 1099
oversight, as applicable) Daily checks and maintenance of facilities within all departments. This includes, but is not limited to, plumbing & electrical distribution systems, water treatment & wastewater treatment systems, incinerator and garbage disposal systems, refrigeration systems, framing & finish carpentry, painting, flooring, siding, roofing, and gutter systems Maintaining inventory and stock of facilities related items Progress Reporting Qualifications Experience - We are a remote island resort that must provide all services and be self-sufficient. To this end, the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Lead must have a well-rounded knowledge of the building trades, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry (foundations to finish carpentry). Dates of Employment - Be available for the entire season from approximately June 1 through the end of September. We prefer to hire team members who would like to return for multiple seasons. Professionalism - We require our employees to present themselves in a professional manner with both dress and attitude, and to be courteous. We always have guests at the lodge: from June into September. Candidates should be healthy, physically fit, maintain a clean appearance, and drug-free. Anyone who cannot maintain themselves in a professional manner regarding alcohol consumption need not apply Staff Management - The Facilities Operations & Maintenance Lead will be expected to supervise one to three staff depending on the daily schedule. Requirements 12+ years of Construction or general contracting, or facilities maintenance experience 7+ years of Project Management experience Current American Red Cross (or equivalent) CPR card Leadership Good communication skills A sound work ethic Service oriented Self-motivated Nice to Have Energy Management HVAC Systems What we
Offer Salary :
DOE. Based upon qualifications required for the position, $7,800-$8,400/mo plus full participation in the TIPS pool; or $10,000/mo salary [only].
Room & Board :
Included as part of, and incremental to the salary (~ $1,800 per month value)
Accommodations :
While at the lodge, the guides/crew will be housed in private rooms with shared bath facilities. Laundry facilities (including detergent) are provided for the crew along with bedding and towels.
Meals :
Our staff enjoys three hearty meals each day served in the lodge dining room.
Personal Items :
Other than getting to Juneau, Alaska, your only living expenses while at the lodge will be personal items: i.e. toiletries, medicines, etc.
Pay:
$31,200.00 - $40,000.00 per year
