Updated 11/2025 Job Description Job Summary Alaska Seaplanes is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Maintenance to help lead our maintenance team and ensure our aircraft fleet meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability. We operate year-round scheduled passenger, freight, and charter flights throughout Southeast Alaska, proudly connecting communities as a locally owned company committed to safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director of Maintenance supports the Director of Maintenance in overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations. This role ensures that all aircraft maintenance is properly performed, tracked, and documented in accordance with Alaska Seaplanes' safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the DOM in daily oversight of aircraft maintenance operations Ensure maintenance activities are properly performed, tracked, and documented Maintain accurate and compliant aircraft records and required placards Supervise and mentor Line Mechanics Support staff scheduling, training, and safety programs Serve as acting DOM during absences Ensure compliance with FAA, environmental, and company safety regulations Promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout all maintenance activities Requirements

Required Experience & Skills:

Minimum 18 years of age FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate Knowledge of applicable FAA and environmental regulations Ability to read, interpret, and research pilot-reported discrepancies and diagnose problems Able to work independently, meet short deadlines, and communicate clearly and professionally Basic computer skills; fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English Ability to lift 60 lbs safely Must pass FAA DOT pre-employment and random drug testing Authorized to work in the U.S. and have a valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications Inspection Authorization (IA) Experience on Cessna 208, Pilatus PC-12, and DHC-2 Beaver aircraft Prior experience leading or managing a maintenance crew Job and company information not to be copied, shared, scraped, or otherwise disseminated without explicit consent of JSfirm, LLC.
