Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, Pulp and Paper Selma, AL | $95,000 to $135,000 annually | Full-Time, On-Site This is an on-site electrical and instrumentation maintenance leadership role at a fully integrated pulp and paper mill in Selma, Alabama. The facility operates two paper machines and includes multiple process lines across wood handling, pulping and OCC, power and recovery, sheeting operations, and effluent treatment. The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor leads a crew of approximately ten hourly technicians supporting one of the mill's operating areas and works in close partnership with the area Mechanical team. This position reports to the Area Maintenance Manager. Schedule Full-time, on-site in Selma, Alabama. The role includes participation in a rotating weekend duty team for the Maintenance department and requires availability for off-shift and off-day response to maintenance issues as they arise. Compensation $95,000 to $135,000 base salary annually, depending on experience. What You'll Do You will lead and direct a crew of approximately ten electrical and instrumentation technicians in a goal-oriented environment, with accountability for safety performance, team engagement, and reliability outcomes across your assigned operating area. Day-to-day, that means managing crew scheduling, approving time and pay, maintaining attendance and performance records, and handling administrative requirements consistent with the mill's labor agreement and company policy. People development is a standing responsibility. You will conduct regular one-on-ones with crew members to provide feedback and direction, assess individual and organizational training needs on an ongoing basis, and implement training plans covering both technical and professional skills. Building a capable, well-developed crew is a core performance expectation of this role, not a secondary priority. You will coordinate closely with operations to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities, communicate maintenance status through daily and weekly planning meetings, and partner with the Area Maintenance Manager and peer supervisors across the mill to share resources when broader mill needs require it. When vendor or contractor resources are brought on site, you will serve as the coordinator for that work. On the technical side, you will troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation equipment issues, support the identification and implementation of solutions, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance systems and work processes. You will implement and sustain 5S practices within your area and execute responsibilities aligned with the mill's reliability systems, including root cause failure analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and precision maintenance standards. You will also serve on the rotating weekend duty team for the Maintenance department, providing coverage and response leadership during off-shift periods. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field Maintenance experience in a pulp and paper facility Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment 2 or more years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SAP PM Ability to manage multiple projects and maintenance priorities simultaneously PLC knowledge and hands-on troubleshooting experience Availability for rotating weekend duty coverage and off-shift response Preferred Qualifications 5 or more years of electrical and instrumentation maintenance experience in pulp and paper or heavy industrial manufacturing Experience with Allen Bradley and ABB drive systems Familiarity with reliability systems including root cause failure analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance, and precision maintenance methodologies Experience serving as a contractor coordinator for vendor or contract maintenance resources Background in 5S implementation and sustainment Compensation and Benefits $95,000 to $135,000 base salary, depending on experience Relocation assistance available Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) Paid time off and company holidays To apply, submit your resume along with a brief summary of your electrical maintenance supervisory experience and your background in pulp and paper or heavy industrial manufacturing.
