VP What You Will Do:
The Director of Maintenance & Reliability is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness. This encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including optimizing lubrication practices, managing stockrooms efficiently, supporting Autonomous Maintenance (AM) programs, minimizing breakdowns, enhancing planning and scheduling, controlling maintenance costs, implementing predictive maintenance technologies, and improving the overall performance of the maintenance organization. This role will champion a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the maintenance teams, driving best practices and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. The Sr Manager will also oversee the development and implementation of technical training programs to upskill the maintenance workforce.
Responsibilities:
Reliability Engineering:
Lead the implementation of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles and practices to improve equipment uptime, reduce maintenance costs, and optimize asset lifecycle management. This includes conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and developing proactive maintenance strategies.
Lubrication Management:
Develop and implement a comprehensive lubrication program, encompassing best practices for lubricant selection, storage, application, and monitoring. This includes establishing procedures for oil analysis, contamination control, and lubrication system optimization to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
Stockroom Management:
Oversee the efficient and effective management of maintenance stockrooms, ensuring optimal inventory levels, streamlined procurement processes, accurate record-keeping, and robust inventory control systems. Autonomous Maintenance (AM)
Support:
Provide leadership and support to Autonomous Maintenance (AM) initiatives, empowering production teams to take ownership of basic maintenance tasks and contribute to improved equipment performance and reliability.
Breakdown Elimination:
Lead efforts to analyze breakdown data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime and improve overall operational efficiency. This includes developing and implementing proactive maintenance strategies to prevent future breakdowns.
Planning and Scheduling:
Optimize maintenance planning and scheduling processes to maximize wrench time, minimize disruption to production, and ensure efficient resource allocation. This includes implementing best practices for work order management, scheduling, and resource leveling.
Maintenance Cost Control:
Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing strategies to optimize maintenance spending without compromising equipment reliability.
Predictive Maintenance:
Lead the implementation of predictive maintenance technologies, such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, to identify potential equipment failures before they occur, enabling proactive maintenance interventions and minimizing downtime.
Maintenance Organization Development:
Continuously evaluate and improve the structure and effectiveness of the maintenance organization, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities, efficient communication channels, and optimal resource allocation.
Mechanic Accountability:
Foster a culture of accountability within the maintenance team, setting clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback, and implementing performance management systems to drive continuous improvement.
Technical Training:
Develop and implement comprehensive technical training programs for maintenance personnel, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain equipment effectively and contribute to the overall success of the maintenance organization. This includes staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)required. Minimum of10years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on maintenance and reliability. Proven leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing maintenance teams. Strong understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), lubrication best practices, stockroom management principles, and predictive maintenance technologies. Experience with implementing and sustaining Autonomous Maintenance (AM) programs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification preferred. Requires onsite presence; hybrid work policy is not available for this role
