General Superintendent Job Description As a General Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and directing the construction efforts of discipline Superintendents, ensuring projects are executed safely and in alignment with design specifications, budget constraints, and scheduled timelines. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, and promoting efficient use of materials and equipment. Responsibilities Supervise and direct the work of discipline Superintendents across earthworks and structural construction efforts. Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions, including scheduling and subcontractor coordination. Ensure compliance of craft workers and subcontractors with contract requirements and safety plans. Provide technical assistance, such as interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods. Assist project management in developing project schedules, site logistics plans, and implementing project procedures. Support the Site Specific Safety Plan and coordinate with on-site owner employees. Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor. Essential Skills 10+ years of experience in construction. 5+ years as a Superintendent in multiple industries, particularly construction management. Experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects valued over $200M. Knowledge of U.S. construction methods, techniques, and standards. Experience with City, State, and Federal Government clients is preferred. Familiarity with contract management and local trade/unions/craft. Proficiency in MS Word/Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, and HCSS Heavy bid or similar software. OSHA certification and First Aid certifications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Rail experience. Bachelors Degree Work Environment The work environment involves overseeing the California High-Speed Rail Authority's Construction Package 1 (CP1), a 32-mile stretch in California's Central Valley. This area includes major work elements such as roadway/railroad grade separations, mainline viaducts, a tunnel, realignments of existing railroad tracks, utility relocations, roadway relocations, trench sections, and a major river crossing over the San Joaquin River. The project offers stability and is focused on long-term construction efforts. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Fresno, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $240000.00 - $290000.00/yr.
