Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to lead our CDJR automotive service department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive revenue growth through effective team leadership and technical excellence. Your passion for automotive repair, combined with strong management skills, will help create a positive environment where both customers and staff thrive. Responsibilities Lead and motivate the service team, including technicians and service advisors, to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Oversee the entire service process from vehicle intake through repair completion, ensuring quality standards are met. Manage workflow, prioritize repairs, and allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity. Utilize estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools to accurately assess vehicle issues and develop repair plans. Upsell additional services and maintenance opportunities to customers while maintaining transparency and integrity. Ensure all repairs adhere to safety protocols, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices. Maintain detailed records of service transactions, parts used, and labor hours for accurate billing and reporting. Foster strong client communication by explaining repairs clearly, providing estimates, and following up on customer satisfaction. Monitor dealership or shop performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Stay updated on automotive repair techniques, new technologies, and industry trends to continually enhance service quality. Skills Proven experience in auto service management or a similar leadership role within an automotive dealership or repair shop. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic. Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools such as auto estimating programs. Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, transmissions, suspension systems, brake repair, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, and collision repair procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and costs. Demonstrated ability in upselling services ethically while maintaining customer trust. Familiarity with dealership operations, auto service writing, sales techniques, and cash handling procedures. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in estimating repairs and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
