The Pedder Automotive Group was founded in 2008 by Owner David Pedder. The family owned and operated dealer group has 8 dealerships in Southern California, representing Nissan, Hyundai, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands. The eight (8) locations are - Pedder Nissan, Raceway Nissan, Temecula Nissan, Hemet CDJR, Lake Elsinore CDJR, Pedder Hyundai of Poway, and Pedder CDR+J of Poway. Pedder Hyundai of Poway is seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Service Department. The Service Manager is responsible for leading the service team, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and achieving departmental financial objectives The ideal candidate is a proven leader with strong dealership service management experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to developing employees while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Requirements:
Essential Responsibilities Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Service Department. Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate service advisors, technicians, porters, and support staff. Establish departmental goals and monitor performance to ensure operational and financial objectives are achieved. Monitor key performance indicators including CSI, technician productivity, efficiency, labor gross, effective labor rate, warranty performance, and departmental profitability. Develop and manage departmental budgets while controlling expenses. Ensure repair orders are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with manufacturer and dealership standards. Maintain quality control procedures to minimize comebacks and ensure repairs are completed correctly. Partner with the Parts Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels and maximize technician productivity. Address customer concerns professionally and resolve escalated issues in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for employees and customers. Ensure compliance with all manufacturer policies, OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local laws. Serve as the primary liaison with manufacturer representatives regarding service operations and performance. Conduct regular department meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing training to support employee development. Maintain accurate records, reporting, warranty documentation, and departmental metrics Qualifications Minimum of three years of automotive dealership Service Manager experience required. Proven leadership experience managing service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Strong understanding of dealership service operations, repair order processes, warranty administration, and fixed operations performance. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve performance, and achieve departmental goals. Strong financial and analytical skills with experience managing budgets and departmental profitability. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS) and Microsoft Office. Valid California Driver License with a satisfactory driving record Preferred Qualifications Hyundai or import dealership experience. ASE certifications or technical background.
