Qualifications Management:
5 years (Required) Diesel engine experience : 5 years (Required) Driver's License (Required) High school or equivalent (Preferred) Full Job Description Ware Disposal Inc. is a well established refuse and recycling collection company serving over fifteen municipalities throughout Southern California and employing about 200 full time employees. We are currently seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for our San Diego California Division. Fleet Maintenance Supervisor The Shop Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of all shop personnel including mechanics and welders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Coordinates and directs the activities of all shop personnel including mechanics and welders Responsible for the repair and maintenance of hauling divisions fleet including monthly PM services and
DVIR/VCR
repairs Assigns tasks for the mechanical repair of heavy duty refuse trucks Maintains parts inventory and container tracking Will conduct monthly safety training and tailgates Monitors work flow and ensures tasks are completed in a timely manner and to company standards Administers DOT and preventative maintenance programs while ensuring shop personnel is following safe work practices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have strong organizational skills and ability to motivate large groups Must have good decision making, problem solving and communication skills Must have familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations Must have valid drivers license
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Must have previous experience managing heavy duty mechanics and thorough knowledge of engine, hydraulic and transmission mechanical repairs Previous experience managing a shop is required ASE certification for alternative fuels is a plus
PHYSICAL
This position requires that the individual walk, sit, stand, touch, stoop, lift and climb or move heavy objects.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, rain, wind) and noise levels in the shop.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
