Coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair and/or maintenance of machinery or buildings/facilities. Oversees and performs activities concerned with construction and remodeling projects. Prepares the work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product.
Job description:
Coordinate maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operations. Performs activities required for internal construction projects (electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, painting, etc.) on machinery and within the facility as required. Review new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with the Facility Manager. Confer with the Facilities Manager to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment (related to Facility only). Review specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times. Coordinate and oversee the supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction or remodeling to prevent delays. Directly supervise 1 to 10 employees in the assigned department. Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following the electrical code, and schematic diagrams using hand tools and voltage tester. Troubleshoot and repair
HVAC/RTAC
units and Air Handler units on rooftop. Set-up of various types of production equipment (including: DMS & Thermwood CNC machine, Oil heaters, Dust collection system, Presses, etc.). Coordinate with outside contractors concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations. Submit to the Facilities Manager recommendations for painting, repairs and maintenance to the buildings and surrounding grounds. Assist with all types of building maintenance. Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment. Periodically perform inventories supplies and equipment used by Facilities. Perform all other duties as assigned. Candidate skills & requirements:
Education :
Associate's (A.A.) degree or an equivalent degree from a college or technical school in a related area, plus 3 years' experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Other Skills:
Must have sensitivity to safety regulations and requirements. Able to work within the time constraints dictated by management. Able to self-inspect personal work, subordinate's work, and subcontractor's work and correct discrepancies in a timely manner. Must be able to interpret facility drawings and electrical schematics. Must be able to teach and train employees in the assigned department. Effective oral and written communications skills Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail Problem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accurate.
Preferred Skills:
Contractor's License or the ability to obtain a license. Technical electrician certification.
