Job Description Engineering & Capital Project Management Develop and execute annual capital investment plans aligned with operational objectives and future capacity requirements. Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation, including feasibility studies, financial justification, equipment selection, commissioning, and performance validation. Partner with Operations, Finance, Procurement, Quality, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution. Manage project budgets, timelines, contractor performance, and overall project governance. Maintenance & Reliability Lead all maintenance operations to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and manufacturing performance. Oversee preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs. Develop and monitor maintenance KPIs, including downtime, OEE, asset utilization, and maintenance costs. Drive root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment issues. Ensure engineering support for new equipment installations, process improvements, and product introductions. Facilities & Utilities Management Direct maintenance activities for buildings, utilities, HVAC systems, infrastructure, and critical facility assets. Manage external contractors and service providers supporting facility upgrades and maintenance programs. Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, and workplace safety requirements. Lead facility improvement initiatives and long-range infrastructure planning. Asset Management & Maintenance Systems Drive optimization and utilization of
CMMS/EAM
systems for maintenance planning, scheduling, and reporting. Develop spare parts strategies that balance equipment reliability with inventory efficiency. Implement asset lifecycle management practices and equipment replacement plans. Utilize predictive maintenance technologies and performance analytics to improve operational reliability. Sustainability & Environmental Operations Support energy reduction and efficiency initiatives across manufacturing operations. Oversee wastewater, utility, and environmental systems to ensure operational effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Partner with EHS leadership to support sustainability objectives and environmental improvement projects. Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop a team of engineers, maintenance managers, supervisors, planners, and technicians. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with Food Safety, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to achieve plant performance objectives. Provide technical leadership and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. The Successful Applicant A successful Maintenance Engineering Manager should have: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 15+ years of engineering and maintenance experience within food manufacturing or another highly regulated manufacturing environment. Significant leadership experience managing maintenance, engineering, reliability, and facilities functions. Strong experience with TPM, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability engineering methodologies. Demonstrated success managing capital projects and large-scale facility or equipment upgrades. Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and automated manufacturing equipment. Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and continuous improvement principles. Experience using
CMMS/EAM
systems and leveraging maintenance data to improve performance. Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Experience leading multi-site manufacturing operations. Background in wastewater treatment, utilities management, or sustainability programs. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification. Experience implementing digital maintenance tools and predictive maintenance technologies.
