Maintenance Manager Bridgeport, CT A combined-cycle or combustion turbine power generation facility in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations and engineering support functions. This is a site-based leadership role overseeing represented maintenance personnel and driving continuous improvement across predictive and preventive maintenance programs. The position reports to the General Manager and plays a central role in outage planning, budget development, and equipment reliability.
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday with on-call availability required for emergency conditions and unplanned outages. Occasional overnight travel required.
Compensation:
$150,000 - $170,000 Per Year. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k); and paid time off. What You'll Do The Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance and engineering support activities at the facility, with direct accountability for equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and plant availability. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating and conducting performance, functional, and surveillance testing of plant systems and components, comparing results against established standards, and interpreting data to assess wear, malfunction, and repair or replacement needs. You will utilize predictive maintenance tools and analysis techniques to identify developing equipment issues before they result in forced outages. This includes supporting the development of preventive and scheduled maintenance activities, assisting with outage planning, and evaluating equipment failures through Root Cause Analysis to prevent recurrence. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will track facility service hours, equivalent starts, and other operating parameters to maintain current Major Maintenance Inspection schedules for combustion turbines. You will update major maintenance expense projections for inspections and overhauls, and track component repairs and schedules to ensure availability of replacement and refurbished parts. You will direct the activities of the Maintenance Department to ensure generating requirements and plant efficiency are sustained, and that local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards are met. Facility work orders are managed and closed through the CMMS (Maximo), and you will be responsible for scheduling work, prioritizing orders, maintaining inventory, and procuring parts and materials. As Maintenance Manager, you will assist the General Manager in developing the annual maintenance budget. You will provide coaching, training, and development for the maintenance team, conduct inspections of boilers, pressure vessels, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment during forced and annual outages, and provide technical support on specifications, bid evaluation, and contractor oversight. This role involves regular coordination with Corporate Engineering, equipment manufacturers, vendors, service personnel, shift supervisors, and plant operations staff. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical field Minimum 10 years of relevant power plant experience, preferably in combustion turbine or combined-cycle generation Experience managing represented (union) maintenance personnel Proficiency in CMMS platforms; Maximo experience preferred Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills Familiarity with predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies Ability to physically access plant facilities, stairways, and elevated equipment areas Availability for on-call response to emergency or unplanned conditions Preferred Qualifications Direct experience managing combustion turbine Major Maintenance Inspections Background in outage planning and contractor QA/QC oversight Experience with Root Cause Analysis methodologies (RCFA, FMEA, or equivalent) Prior involvement in maintenance budget development and capital project planning Familiarity with NERC or applicable environmental compliance standards Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off On-call differential or standby compensation To apply, submit your resume and a brief summary of your power plant maintenance leadership experience.
