Quinnipiac University invites applicants to apply for the position of Maintenance Supervisor of Evening Services. This position will assist with the overall management of the custodial, and building services division for the Mount Carmel, North Haven, and York Hill campuses including setups, athletic venues, trash removal, cleaning of flooring, equipment maintenance and repair, and other tasks as assigned by the Senior Superintendent of Evening Services. The shift for this position is Thursday-Monday, 7:30am to 4:00pm on our York Hill campus.

Responsibilities:
Plan, supervise and direct the general maintenance/repair, cleaning, grounds, and mechanical services for the Mount Carmel, North Haven, and York Hill campuses including the timely response and resolution to work requests of students, faculty and staff. Manage a staff of custodians, groundskeepers, licensed mechanic, and mechanics as well as other employees as assigned and external contractors. Assist with the general maintenance and repairs related to custodial, grounds and building services work on the Mount Carmel, North Haven, and York Hill campuses. Assist with the physical set up of University events on the Mount Carmel, North Haven, and York Hill campuses and ancillary properties including athletic venues, significant institutional events, and daily meetings/conferences. Responsible for providing a strong sense of community with excellent customer service and relationships while maintaining the buildings to promote an atmosphere which further fosters student success and achievement; insuring that the community's needs and expectations for such services are met. Assist with or the assessment, development, communication, documentation, and implementation of daily and long-term custodial, grounds and building services work plan including seasonal operations (snow removal), summer building turnover, as well as minor renovations and capital improvements. Assist with the procurement and inventory of all custodial and grounds services materials and equipment. Work toward the reduction of hazardous custodial and grounds chemicals while working in the direction of more environmental friendly campus. This position is considered essential personnel and will have off shift responsibilities based generally upon weather events.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Qualifications:
2+ years supervisory experience required. Experience with custodial equipment and knowledge of floor maintenance techniques and processes. Experience with grounds equipment, snow equipment, and knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes. Good interpersonal and oral/written communications skills. Proven managerial, fiscal, and organizational ability required; managerial experience in a union environment is preferred.
