Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Yacht Maintenance Manager / Fleet Supervisor with a strong background in yacht systems and the marine industry. This individual will oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of our charter fleet by diagnosing issues, coordinating and supervising contractors, sourcing parts, and ensuring all vessels remain charter-ready at all times. The ideal candidate has extensive marine knowledge, a strong network of mechanics and suppliers, excellent organizational skills, and takes ownership of problems from diagnosis through completion. The primary responsibility of this position is ensuring every vessel is safe, reliable, properly maintained, and ready for charter every week. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of all vessels to identify mechanical, electrical, plumbing, cosmetic, and safety issues before they impact operations. Diagnose vessel issues and determine the most effective repair solution. Coordinate, schedule, and supervise all outside mechanics, technicians, and contractors. Verify that all repairs are completed correctly before approving work. Maintain and prioritize repair lists for each vessel. Source, purchase, and pick up parts, materials, and tools while obtaining competitive pricing to reduce company expenses. Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules for every vessel. Ensure all vessels remain charter-ready, clean, operational, and compliant with safety requirements. Respond to urgent maintenance issues and provide phone support to captains and crew during mechanical failures or emergencies. Train captains and crew on proper operation of vessel systems and basic troubleshooting procedures. Perform minor repairs personally when practical to reduce downtime and repair costs. Maintain organized maintenance records, repair histories, invoices, and service schedules. Monitor maintenance budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality. Communicate repair progress and maintenance updates to ownership on a regular basis. Qualifications Experience managing yacht maintenance or commercial vessel operations. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generators, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, pumps, fuel systems, steering systems, and marine electronics. Ability to diagnose problems rather than simply replacing parts. Existing relationships with marine mechanics, vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple repairs under time constraints. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work aboard vessels. Performance Expectations Success in this role will be measured by: Fleet is charter-ready every week. Preventative maintenance is completed on schedule. Repairs are completed correctly the first time. Vessel downtime is minimized. Maintenance costs are controlled through efficient sourcing and planning. Contractors are held accountable for quality and timeliness. Emergency issues are handled promptly. Accurate maintenance records are maintained. This is a part-time salaried position with flexible scheduling. While regular vessel inspections are expected multiple days per week, work schedules should be determined by the needs of the fleet. The manager must remain available for urgent operational issues and ensure all vessels are charter-ready regardless of when work is performed. This position requires ownership and accountability. The Yacht Maintenance Manager is expected to independently identify problems, develop solutions, coordinate repairs, and follow projects through to completion without requiring constant oversight from ownership.
