Job Description
Maintenance & Reliability Manager Shape Glass LLC | Sarasota, FL Keep Our Plant Running, Reduce Downtime. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for reducing downtime, developing preventative maintenance programs, improving equipment reliability, and partnering with Production to keep our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently. Role :
Based in Sarasota, the goal within the Maintenance Department is to maintain plant electrical/mechanical systems and equipment in a safe and reliable manner. This work must comply with all applicable corporate, state, and federal regulation/policies. The Maintenance Department's function is to provide service and support to the manufacturing teams through preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of plant processing equipment. What You'll Do- Lead and manage the company's preventative maintenance program.
- Diagnose equipment issues and develop long-term solutions—not just quick fixes.
- Work closely with Production, Fleet, and Management to minimize downtime.
- Ensure operators understand and complete routine machine maintenance responsibilities.
- Schedule and prioritize repairs to maximize production efficiency.
- Order and manage maintenance parts, supplies, and inventory.
- Identify maintenance risks and implement corrective actions.
- Develop maintenance procedures, policies, and documentation.
- Train and mentor employees on equipment care and preventative maintenance practices.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
Preventative Maintenance & Continuous Improvement :
- Proficient in performing repairs and troubleshooting high speed equipment and plant utility systems; make machine adjustments and other equipment for proper operation.
- Install various components including seals, bushings, couplings, bearings, O-rings, gaskets, adhesives, belts, chains, rollers, sprockets, gears and sheaves, cylinders, etc.
- Wire and repair/replace electric motors; repair basic wiring, install/replace correct size fuses, troubleshoot motor overload protection and contactors.
- Replace/repair lighting fixtures and lamps in equipment and equipment areas throughout the plant.
Strategic functions:
- Develop replacement parts lists and follow-up work orders based on inspection findings.
- Perform preventative maintenance on automatic lubrication systems, apply grease and oil to components, drain and fill as needed.
- Work with operations to help improve operator care initiatives with your experience and findings from inspections and repairs
- Partner with Operations to improve equipment reliability and operator care through preventative maintenance and inspection findings.
- Previous maintenance management or maintenance supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience developing preventative maintenance programs.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a production environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Experience with welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, glass manufacturing, or industrial equipment is a plus.
