Summary:
The Lead, Student Nutrition Services Facilities and Maintenance, will provide supervision and support to all subordinates in the Student Nutrition Services (SNS) Facilities and Maintenance Department. This position will provide oversight to all aspects of the physical operation of the SNS Facilities and Maintenance Department and all ancillary related departments and staff.
SUPERVISORY EXPECTATIONS
Manage assigned clerical staff and subordinate professional personnel in one or more sections of the department. Take responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned teams. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable state and federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities:
Oversees all aspects of SNS Facilities and Maintenance Operations. Provides training, support, and supervision to all subordinates within the SNS Facilities and Maintenance Department. Plans the reviews of all new facilities, including all phases of new construction, remodels, upgrades, and maintenance. Confers with the SNS General Manager. Oversees the development of the department's five-year plan and ensures accuracy. Provides training, as needed, to all subordinates. Oversees operational records and data and prepares routing and special reports. Oversees the monitoring and enforcement of regulations within all areas of operational control. Supervises assigned personnel, conducts annual performance appraisals, and makes recommendations for appropriate employment action. Supervises Silo Bend custodial staff. Oversees and monitors all SNS district office custodial operations. Maintains working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations. Attends training required by the district to keep abreast of current technology. Is knowledgeable in all aspects of facility and maintenance needs of a large department/organization. Oversees architecture engineering and construction management services for the SNS Department. Operates SNS facility and maintenance related equipment. Manages contracts with vendors pertaining to cooler, freezer, fire, and hood cleaning. Serves as internal and external building maintenance liaison. Analyzes cost-effectiveness of facility and maintenance functions and practices. Establishes procedures for facilities and maintenance staff to ensure an efficient, effective, and orderly work environment. Performs any other duties as assigned. Education:
A bachelor's degree. Degree or formal training in building, maintenance, or construction-related field preferred.
Experience:
Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction, maintenance, or the skilled trades with two (2) years of related supervisory experience preferred. Two (2) years of verified experience may substitute for one (1) year of the education requirement.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Must have a Class E driver's license and comply with the district's Safe Driver Plan.
Language Skills:
Reads, analyzes and interprets all kinds of documents. Responds to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or community. Writes speeches and effectively presents to manager, the public and school board.
Mathematical Skills:
Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Activities:
Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, handling, keyboarding, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, and field of vision.
Lifting Demands:
Up to 55 pounds.
Reaching Activities:
Both dominant and non-dominant hand; overhead.
Environmental Conditions:
Noise intensity: 4, loud; extreme cold, extreme heat, wet/humid, work with cleaning chemicals; wear eye protection, vibration/impact, work with or near heavy equipment, proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, and working in high exposed places.
